VIRGINIA BEACH - Former Virginia Beach resident Doris Bernadine Drake Tatman, 87, 
of Cincinnati, died Feb. 6, 2010. She was born to Anna and Orris Drake in Aurora, 
Ind. In 1982, she retired as head nurse at Lake Taylor City Hospital. She will be 
remembered as a caring nurse and a great mother.

She is survived by her brother, Gordon L. Drake (Eileen) of Phoenix; her children, 
Stephany Maitland and her husband Larry of Dinwiddie, Kathleen Tatman and Tim 
Tatman of Cincinnati, Lane Tatman of Atlanta, Paula Honeycutt, Mary Ann Yoder and 
Frances Germanos and her husband John of Virginia Beach. Also surviving are 
grandchildren, Lisa Kenimer, Wade Maitland, Forest Maitland, Amber Byrd, Matthew 
Tatman, Molly Tatman, Will Tatman, Jessica Honeycutt, Hillary Honeycutt, Aine 
Garrett, B. C. Yoder, Elizabeth Germanos, April Germanos and Mia Germanos and six 
great-grandchildren. Also, daughter-in-law, Ann Tatman Bennis; sisters-in-law, 
Dorothy Black and Beatrice Black; cousins, Charlotte Blake and Ray Maffey; 
numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Bill Drake; husband, Raymond 
William Tatman; and three sons, William J. Tatman, Eric D. Tatman and Christian A 
Tatman.

Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans of Cincinnati, Ohio or to 
the Sean Flynn Sarcoma Foundation.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.
