Gordon L. Taylor, 69, Norfolk Grocer, Dies

Gordon L. Taylor, 69, died Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at the residence, 1716 O'Keefe 
St., after a short illness.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Taylor. He was a native of Winton, 
N.C.,and had resided in Norfolk for the past 50 years. He had operated a grocery 
business for several years at Avenue "B" and O'Keefe street.
He was a member of Hunton Branch Y.M.C.A. Committee of Management and a member 
of the First Baptist Church, Bute St., where he was a former trustee and a Bible 
class teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Essie R. Taylor; one sister, Miss Jessie Taylor 
of Asbury Park, N.J., and one niece, Mrs. Mable Castle of Norfolk.
The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
