Norfolk Virginian Sunday June 9, 1895

Yesterday afternoon about 3 o'clock, Mr. Samuel E. Taylor, residing in Norfolk 
County, on Buzzard's Neck Road, a few miles from the city, committed suicide by 
shooting himself in the head with a pistol.  
Mr. Taylor was a well to do farmer, about 45 years of age and was considered a 
quiet man, but has been complaining of being despondent for the past few days and 
repeatedly threatened to take his life. He leaves a wife and four children.
