Mrs. Taylor was a life-long resident of Norfolk where she was born July 4,1889. Funeral services were held Sunday, at 1 p.m. at Garrett’s Community Church on Cumberland street, with the Rev. W. C. Blount, acting pastor, officiating. One of the favorite hymns of the deceased, “In the Upper Room” was sung by Mrs. C. Bibbins. The family paper was read by Mrs. Annie Mae Freeman. The deceased was a member of the church since childhood and once sang in the choir. She was an employee of the American Tobacco Company on East Princess Anne road for many years with an excellent record of service. Survivors include one son, Harry W. Taylor Jr.; four daughters, Mrs. Louise Tabb McConnell, Mrs. Bessie Taylor Hale, Mrs. Elsie T. Carney, Mrs. Margie T. King; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one aunt, four cousins and a number of other relatives and friends. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge.
