Norfolk Journal and Guide, July 2,1960
Rites were held at the Graves Funeral Home on Saturday for Joe Taylor, 64, of 
2827 Pioneer avenue, who died three days earlier. The Rev. Samuel A. Wilson, 
pastor of New Calvary Baptist Church, presided.

Surviving are Mr. Taylor's son, Ernest Taylor of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. 
Mary and Mrs. Ruby Brooks of New York; and a sister, Mrs. Viola Ausby of 
Portsmouth.

(per death certificate, burial took place in Paige Cemetery)
