Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, October 3, 2003 
Lillie Odessa B. Taylor, 62, of the 2200 block of Barraud Ave., departed this
life Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003.

Lillie was born Aug. 15, 1941 in Norfolk to the late Elizabeth White and George
Smith. She received her education through Norfolk public schools and was a
graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She worked as a floral designer
and provided floral arrangements for various churches and organizations
throughout the community.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Elder Sorento Burns Sr. (Diane),
Curtel D. Garrett, Banoro Garrett, all of Norfolk and Gren M. Garrett (Stacey)
of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Barbara Ross (Thomas) and Carolyn Parker; one
sister friend, Lucille Manley; one brother, William White (Frances), all of
Norfolk; seven grandchildren, LaToya, Sorento Jr., Aaron, Katrina, Johnathan,
Michael and Timothy; two great-grandchildren, Giovani A. Burns and Jakara Gates;
a special friend, Daniel Murphy; and a host of other relatives and friends. She
was predeceased by a brother, Charles White; a son, Jarraud Garrett; and her
husband, John W. Taylor.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral
Service, 7246 Granby St., with Pastor C. Wilson officiating. Interment will be
at Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 1822 Carswell
St. one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. To send
