He was born in Norfolk VA December 20, 1931, the son of Judge John Hume Taylor and Cecilia Ashton Taylor both of Norfolk, both now deceased. He is survived by his wife Martha Pender Taylor and his three children Martha Taylor Kane of Charlottesville, Richard Calvert Taylor, MD of Norfolk, Mary Taylor Howell and her husband David Morgan Howell of Richmond VA. He was predeceased by one son John Hume Taylor lll. He had eight grandchildren Taylor Kiehl Semler of Miami FL, John Taylor Kane, Emma Grace Kane, and Lilly Anne Kane of Charlottesville, McCree Neveu Taylor, Calvert Neal Taylor, Fitzgerald Daniel Taylor, and Mary Abagail Howell, all of Richmond. Mr. Taylor Practiced law in Norfolk for over 40 years in the firm of Taylor and Walker P.C. He served as president of the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association. For many years he was the Commissioner of Accounts for the Circuit Court of the city of Norfolk VA. He was also very active of the development of the Circuit Court of the state of Virginia. He was secretary of the Electoral Board of the city of Norfolk and served on the Planning Commission for a number of years. He was instrumental in the development of the Stop organization. He was very active with St Mary's Infant Home for Disabled Children, having served on the board for almost 50 years, twice as president. He will be cremated and buried, in a private family service, in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
