Taylor died late Monday night at his residence, 1124 Brambleton avenue, after a protracted illness. He was 59 years old. He was a native of Nansemond county, but had lived in Norfolk thirty years and was highly regarded in this city. He was connected with James G. Gill & Co. fourteen years. He was a member of the fraternal mystic circle and National Court No. 3, Guardians of Liberty. He is survived by his wife, five children, Willie, Paul, Terriah, Alethia and Selton Taylor; five step-children, George, Robert, David, Elsie and Margaret Derring, and a brother, John M. Taylor, all of Norfolk. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 3:30 from the residence and Rev. R.L. Hoge will conduct the services. The interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
