It was in 1893 that Miss Taylor, than a young woman, was employed by the late Michael Glettenan publisher of the Norfolk Virginian. Her first job was to assist in the handling and mailing out of the souvenir books of the Columbian Exposition, as a circulation promotion. By the time the Virginian and Pilot were consolidated in 1898, Miss Taylor was cashier, a position she retained under the merger. She was still in this position when the Virginian-Pilot and Ledger-Dispatch were consolidated under the ownership of Norfolk Newspapers, and was cashier of the corporation at the time of her death, although she had not been active for several months. Of a mild temperament, Miss Taylor was known among her many friends as a person of innate kindness and generosity, as well as an efficient worker. A native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Miles F. and Mrs. Josephine Edwards Taylor. She made her home at 1900 Granby Street, and was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one brother, Allen H. Taylor, of New York, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 1 o'clock in the chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, with the Rev. H.T. Squires, D.D., officiating. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
