Taylor Jr. Dies Overseas NORFOLK - T/5 William Horace Taylor Jr., husband of Mrs. Mary Greene Taylor, 1308 W. 42nd street, this city, died in the Asiatic area July 29, from wounds accidentally sustained while on active duty, according to a telegram received by his family from the War Department. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Cpl. Taylor Jr. entered the Army in April, 1943, and received his basic training in Kearnes, Utah. He went overseas in February 1944. Carbine Discharged His wife was informed last week that her husband met death on the Ledo Road when a carbine in the hands of a fellow soldier was accidentally discharged. He was removed to an Army hospital where every possible medical aid was administered in an effort to save his life, but death occurred later the same day as a result of his injuries. Besides his wife, Cpl. Taylor is survived by a four months old daughter, a grandmother, Mrs. Maud Taylor; one sister, Mrs. Theresa Gary, and one brother, Clifford Thomas.
