Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, November 22, 2000 
Elbert Taylor Sr., 87, of the 2000 block of Martin Ave., died Nov. 18, 2000, at
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Born in Shawboro, N.C., Mr. Taylor retired in 1959 as a crane operator of
Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 23 years of service.

The widower of Marie Taylor, he is survived by a daughter, Shirley E. Offley; a
son, Elbert Taylor Jr., both of Chesapeake; a stepsister, Bertha Mae Tillery of
Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other
relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Friday at Fitchett Funeral Home Chapel,
Chesapeake, by the Rev. Bobby Fenner. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk.
