Teagle, 89, had been a secretary at The Virginian-Pilot Gladys Berry Teagle, 89, of 2090 Kenlake Place, a secretary for four decades to executives of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star newspapers, died Saturday in her home. The Elizabeth City, N.C. native was the widow of Fred C. Teagle, who also had been an employee of the newspapers. Mrs. Teagle had served as private secretary to Samuel L. Slover, Henry Lewis and Paul Huber between 1915 to 1955. She was a charter member of Park Place Baptist Church. Survivors include a niece, Shirley B. Smith and a nephew, Guy L. Evans, both of Virginia Beach. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at graveside in Magnolia Cemetery by the Rev. Paul B. Watlington Jr. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
