The Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 11, 1945
Frederick Cook Teagle, 54, superintendent of the mailing department of Norfolk 
Newspapers, Inc., died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock after having been 
stricken with a heart attack while about his duties at the newspaper plant. He 
was taken to Norfolk General Hospital, and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Mr. Teagle entered the employ of the Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch some 40 years ago 
and continued with the company after its consolidation with the Virginian-
Pilot, in 1933. His first employment was with the old Norfolk Public Ledger, 
which later became the Ledger-Dispatch.
Mr. Teagle was a member of Park Place Methodist Church, and long was active in 
Masonry. He was a member of Corinthian Lodge 266, A.F.& A.M.; past high priest 
of John Walters Royal Arch Chapter 68. and a member of Khedive Temple, 
A.A.O.N.M.S. 
A native of Norfolk, he was a son of the late Edward B. and Mrs. Ella 
Ironmonger Teagle. His home was a 3420 Llewellyn Avenue.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gladys Berry Teagle; two sisters, Miss Nellie M. 
Teagle, of Norfolk and Mrs. Grace V. Gartrell, of Richmond; two brothers, Harry 
I. and C. Warren Teagle, both of Norfolk, and two nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
