Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, August 26, 2001 
James E. Teel Sr., 83, of the 900 block of Marshall Ave., died Aug. 23, 2001.

Born in Martin County, N.C., Mr. Teel retired as a truck driver after 20 years
with Myers Seafood Co. He attended Martin County Public Schools in Norfolk
Carolina. He was predeceased by his parents, Annie William Teel Brown and Alonzo
Teel.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Teel; a daughter, Annie M. Garner of
Chesapeake; sons, James E. Brown and William H. Brown of Washington, D.C., Earl
C. Brown of Capitol Heights, Md., and Johnny E. Brown of Lafayette, Ind.; a
sister, Ann Louise Hines of Washington, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 20
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Eunice
Mae Teel of Greenville, N.C.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Bethel Baptist Church, 1234
Reservior Ave., Norfolk, by the Rev. George E. Henry. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery, Norfolk. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Graves Funeral
Home, 1631 Church St., Norfolk, VA 23504.
