                      WHEN WIFE CALLED HE WAS LIFELESS

    A. B. Tennis Dies of Alcoholism While Sleeping at His Home on Queen St.

Albert B. Tennis, 30 years old, a bartender at J.W. Murphy's saloon, at the 
corner of Smith and Nicholson Streets, residing at No. 447 Queen Street, was 
found dead in bed early last evening.  Coroner Kight, who investigated the case, 
announced that continued excessive use of alcohol was the cause of the man's 
death.
Tennis returned home from work in the morning in an intoxicated condition, 
according to the authorities and went to bed. When his wife called him late in 
the afternoon, as was her custom, Tennis did not answer.  Upon looking closer 
the young woman found that her husband was dead.

TENNIS - Suddenly, at his residence, No. 447 Queen Street, Monday January 25th, 
1904, at 4 p.m., A.B. TENNIS, aged 31 years.
The funeral will take place WEDNESDAY, January 27th, 1904, at 4 o'clock p.m. 
from his late residence.  Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to 
attend.

The funeral of Mr. A.B. Tennis took place from his residence, 447 Queen Street, 
yesterday at 4 p.m. and was conducted by Rev. U.B. Thomas.  Interment was in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Charles Kegebein, J.W. Murphy, E.L. Mahoney, James Waterfield, 
Charles Walker, Pat Thompson, J.A. Whitehurst and Albert Dews.
