NORFOLK - Mrs. Mary E. Thatch, 79, widow of John S. Thatch, and daughter of 
Patrick and Mrs. Eleanor Batten McGuire, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died 
Thursday at 4:40 a m., at the residence, 3106 Cape Henry Ave.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Surviving are five sons, J. F. Thatch, J. A. Thatch, H. J. Thatch, P. B. Thatch 
and V. D. Thatch; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. 
Alice J. Moore and Mrs. J. S. Crowling, all of Norfolk, and nieces and nephews.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Christ the King 
Catholic Church for funeral services Saturday at 10 a m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments today at 
7:30 p.m.
