A native of Lynchburg, Va., he was a mathematical physicist in the Mathematics Department of New York City College for 30 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Lydia Robinson Thaxton. He was a member of the American Mathematical Society and American Physics Society and listed in Who Is Who in Science. He had written more than 200 published articles that appeared in 14 different languages in leading scientific journals of various countries. He also had done work for NASA. Besides his widow, survivors include two daughters, Misses Marian Edwina Thaxton and Paddy Rose Thaxton of New York. The body was sent to Hale Funeral Home in Norfolk, where a funeral service will be held today at noon by the Rev. Joseph N. Green of Grace Episcopal Church. Burial will be in the family plot of Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the H. Mack Thaxton Scholarship Fund, Francis M.
