Norfolk Journal of Commerce November 14, 1896

Miss Elmira Thayer, daughter of the late Collins Thayer, of this city, died 
at her home in Baltimore, Thursday.  Her remains arrived here this morning 
for interment in Elmwood Cemetery.

The remains of Miss Elmira Thayer reached here yesterday morning from 
Baltimore and were interred in Elmwood Cemetery, Rev. C.W. Pettis being the 
officiating minister.  The pallbearers were Messrs. Samuel Griffin, Ira T. 
Holt, B.T. Bockcover, John D. Couper, Sr. and Walter J. Simmons.
