Mrs. Isabell Thomas, of 2531 Middle street, died March 28 at 7:40 a.m. in a 
local hospital following a long illness. Funeral rites were held March 31 at 
King's Funeral Home with Dr. J. B. Henderson officiating. A native of 
Lawrenceville, VA, Mrs. Thomas had lived in Norfolk most of her life. She 
was the daughter of the late John and Mrs. Elizabeth Stark Smith.

Survivors are the husband, John Thomas; two sisters, Mrs. Luvenia Perry, of 
Norfolk and Mrs. Carrie Harris of Staten Island NY; one brother, L. Jack 
Smith, of New York City; one daughter, Mrs. Ernestine L. Bowser of Norfolk; 
a brother-in-law, and a sister-in-law.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with King's Funeral Home in charge.
