Norfolk - Alfred Thomas of 909 Whitehead St., retired employee of the Navy 
Exchange of Norfolk where he worked 13 years, died Sunday in Norfolk Medical 
Center Hospital.

A native of Scotland Neck, NC, he was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Berkley Elks Lodge 12, IPBOE of W.

Survivors include a son, James L. Corprew of Austin, TX; a brother, Leroy 
Thomas of Norfolk; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Mount Zion Baptist Church, 
Berkley, by Dr. Charles Hart. Burial, with military honors, will be in 
Calvary Cemetery. Elks fraternal rites will be held tonight at 8 in Pretlow 
Funeral Home. The body will be in church at 11 a.m. Thursday.
