Charlie Thomas of 821 Windsor avenue, a self-employed painter who lived in 
Norfolk 50 years, was given final rites Sunday at Citizens Funeral Home.

The Rev. Lawrence Smith of United Christian Baptist Church, officiated at the 
service.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas, who died in a Norfolk hospital Feb. 19, was a native of Harrisville, 
NC.  He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and its choir, a Mason and a 
member of the Postman choir.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Thomas;  a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellis of 
Norfolk;  three sisters, Mrs. Nannie case and Mrs. Marie Givens of Norfolk and 
Mrs. Lessie White of Edenton, NC.
