VIRGINIA BEACH - David Scott Thomas, 37, of the 700 block of Quesnel Drive, died 
Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 in his residence. He was a native of Virginia Beach and 
was the son of Leo "Buddy" Thomas Jr. and Patricia Smith Thomas, both of Virginia 
Beach. He was employed as a manager and loan officer with Numerica Mortgage LLC 
for 10 years. He graduated from Midlothian High School and attended Tidewater 
Community College. Survivors include his loving wife of four years, Renee Goodey 
Thomas of Virginia Beach; his son, David Scott Thomas II and his daughter, Lauren 
Elizabeth Thomas, both of Virginia Beach; his brother, Eric D. Thomas and wife 
Leslie of Chesapeake; and his maternal grandmother, Martha I. Smith and his 
paternal grandfather, Leo Thomas, both of Virginia Beach; and many cousins and 
extended family members. A memorial service will be held in the Laskin Road chapel 
of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Monday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Steve 
Kelly and the Rev. Father Robert J. Cole. A private family interment in St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to 
Wave City Care, 1000 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23454 or St. John's 
Catholic School in Virginia Beach. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
