Virginian Pilot August 1, 1994

Nellie R. Thomas, 80, of the 800 block of Cumberland St., died July 26, 1994, in 
her home.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Denver, Va. She had been a domestic worker and was a 
member of COGIC Way of the Cross, Norfolk. She was also Mother of the church. 
She was a dedicated supporter of Faith Living Ministries.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Yvonne Winslow of Portsmouth and 
Mrs. Adell Lee of Fremont, Calif.; a brother, Mr. James Robert of Norfolk; 
grandchildren, Calvin Durham, John Durham, Teress Lee, Priscilla Turner, 
Christing Wilson, Felicia Durham, Calvin Lee, Vernon Lee, Linda Lee and Lou 
Parker, all of Portsmouth; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Twilight Funeral Home Chapel 
by Elder Lewis Hines. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery. The family will 
be at 908 Godwin St., Portsmouth.
