Mrs. Thomas was a native of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and a resident of Hampton Roads for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mata Boswell Moore and was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Moore. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Mrs. Thomas was a sultanna with the International Order of the Alhambra, Padul Caravan 69. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Kempsville Ladies Golf Association and a past member of many Ladies Golf Associations including: Bow Creek, Stumpy Lake, Redwing and Tidewater. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and duck pin bowling. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Leo Thomas of Virginia Beach; three daughters, Donna T. Cummings and her husband, Donald, of Annandale, Va., Jennie T. Braithwaite and her friend, Jim Market, of Virginia Beach, Mary Kathy T. McCully and her husband, Michael, of Virginia Beach; three sons, Leo "Buddy" Thomas and his wife, Patty, of Virginia Beach, Charles F. Thomas of Suffolk, Michael A. Thomas and his wife, Rhonda, of Virginia Beach; a sister, Maxine Aldridge and her husband, Billy, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren, Christy, Billy, David, Eric, Watson, Brian, Joshua, Kenny, Michael II, Candice and Ricky; and one great-granddaughter, Ashley. She will be missed by her numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 5 p.m. Tuesday at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church by Father Paschal Kneip O.S.B. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association. H.D.
