Virginian-Pilot, May 02, 1899


 

The remains of Captain J.W. Thomas, who died in Providence R.I., arrived in 
this city via the Merchants’ and Miners’ Transportation Line Sunday morning and 
was met at the wharf at 9 o’clock by the family and conveyed to Elmwood for 
interment. Rev. L.T. Williams of Trinity M.E. Church, conducted the burial 
service at the grave. The floral offerings were very pretty and appropriate.
