Landmark, Sun, May 4, 1902 pg. 2

The remains of Miss Lucy Virginia Thomas who died in Providence, R.I., arrived 
in this city Thursday morning, and accompanied by relatives were conveyed to 
Elmwood Cemetery, where the burial services took place, the Rev. W.R. Proctor, 
of McKendree M.E. Church, officiating.
The floral offerings were numerous and handsome.
Miss Thomas was the youngest daughter of Mrs. Lucy H. and the late Captain John 
W. Thomas, and sister of Mrs. C.F. Jarvis and L.E. Thomas of this city, and of 
Mrs. J.C. Perry, of Port Norfolk.
