Norfolk - Clifford W. Thomas Sr. of 1505 Sinoe Place, the husband of Mrs.
Margaret Thomas, died Thursday in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Mrs. Estella T.
Thomas.

He was a truck driver for Norfolk Sash & Door co. and a Baptist.

Besides his widow, surviving are four sons, Clifford W. Thomas Jr., Horace E.
Thomas, and Michael A. Thomas of Norfolk, and Pvt. Gerald L. Thomas of Texas; 
four daughters, Misses Shirley D. Thomas, Sheila D. Thomas, Barbara L. Thomas,
and Phyllis A. Thomas;  and a grandchild.

A funeral service was held in Covenant Presbyterian Church by the Rev. J. J.
Freeman with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  Hale Funeral Home was in charge.
