Jacksonville, FL - Cecilia Rose Thompson, 90, passed away May 18, 2014.

A resident of Norfolk for 50 years, she was the daughter of the late Frank and 
Rose Raschilla. She was the widow of Talton N. Thompson, Jr., and was also 
preceded in death by a son, Thomas Thompson.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pamela Longmeier and David Thompson 
(Janet); grandchildren Melissa Longmeier, Matthew Longmeier, Ryan Thompson, 
Danielle Thompson Brickhouse (Sean); and one great-grandchild, Ella Rose 
Brickhouse. It was obvious to those who loved her that the addition of Ella to the 
family raised her spirits immensely and filled a void in her life.

Upon retiring from a successful career with Civil Service as a Budget Analyst she 
devoted her life to her grandchildren and serving the Church of St. Pius X in 
Norfolk. Her work ethic and her selfless approach endeared her to many at the 
church who she counted among her closest friends.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at All Saints Catholic Nursing Home for 
the loving care provided to Cecilia during her residency there.

The Rosary will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel on 
Friday, May 23, 2014, from 5:30 to 6 p.m., where the family will remain until 8 
p.m. to greet friends. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Saturday, May 
24, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 
Norfolk. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Cecilia's name to 
St. Pius X Catholic Church. Condolences may be offered to the family at:
