NORFOLK — Talton Nelse Thompson Jr., 60, of 1925 Tulane Road, died Tuesday in a 
hospital.

A native of Mayhew, Miss., he had retired from the Navy after 24 years and was a 
courier at United Virginia Bank for three years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 39 
and Fleet Reserve Branch 60 and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Rashcilla Thompson; a daughter, Pamela T. 
Longmeier of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, David Paul Thompson of Weirton, W.Va.; 
three sisters, Eudora T. VonKanel and Evelyn T. West, both of Columbus, Miss., and 
Bonnie T. Rogers of Crawford, Miss.; and three brothers, Jerry V. Thompson and 
Carlton Thompson, both of Houston, and Grady Thompson of Crawford.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 
Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Ron Ruth. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic 
Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be sent to Moose Lodge 
39 or to the Heart Fund.
