She was the widow of William B. Thornton and a daughter of the late Henry O. and Mrs. Emma Steger Hill. She was a member of Ghent Methodist Church, a retired practical nurse, and a Navy Yeomanette veteran of World War I. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ida Lee Robinson of Portsmouth; and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted in Cox Funeral Home Wednesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Beverly Felty of Ghent Methodist Church. Burial will be Elmwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of William O. Robinson of 1005 Woodrow Ave., Norfolk.
