Norfolk - A funeral service will be held at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church 
Sunday at 1:30 p.m. for Timothy Thornton, husband of Mrs. Eloise Thornton, 
4228 Borden’s Ferry road.  The Rev. William Butts will officiate.

Mr. Thornton, who died in a local hospital, was a member of Rose of Sharon 
Baptist and a World War II Navy veteran.  He was the son of the late James 
T. Sr. and Mrs. Ella Thornton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy Thornton Jr.;  two 
daughters, Mrs. Brenda T. Carter and Miss Pamela Thornton;  five brothers, 
James, William, Claude, Ronald and Junius Thornton - all of Norfolk;  and 
five sisters, Mrs. Frances McEachin of New York, Miss Thelma Thornton of 
Philadelphia, Mrs. Ella Hyman of Norfolk, Mrs. Elizabeth Hodges of Norfolk 
and Miss Vera Thornton, Norfolk.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Graves Funeral Home in charge.
