Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, December 19, 1992 
Elouise Walker Thornton, 72, of the 100 block of Suburban Parkway, a retired
nurse and church organist, died Dec. 16, 1992, in Lafayette Villa Nursing Home.

Mrs. Thornton was born in Norfolk. She was an organist for several local
churches for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Mark R.Z.U.A. Church in
Norfolk and the trustee of the United Order of Tents Megereon 250. She was the
widow of Timothy Thornton Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Alexander of Hobgood, N.C., and Pamela
Rollins of Norfolk; a son, Timothy Thornton Jr. of Virginia Beach; an aunt; a
niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, the late
Cora B. Walker and Martin Walker.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in St. Mark R.Z.U.A. Church by
the Rev. Moses Davis Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake will be
from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Hale Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the
church at 11 a.m. Monday. The family will assemble at the daughter's home, 639
W. 26th St., Apt. 2.
