Bernard Sheldon Tibbetts – Passed away on Sept. 13, 2024, at age 93, in Norfolk, 
VA. He was born in St. Petersburg, FL, to Forest Sidney Tibbetts and Emily 
Ouilette Tibbetts and resided in Caribou, ME, until 1959, then settling in 
Norfolk, VA, for most of his life. Bernard had a bachelor’s degree from Bryant 
College and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was the beloved and faithful husband of 
M. Patrica Tibbetts for 68 years and father of six children. Surviving children 
are Timothy Tibbetts, Paula Bernfeld, Bryant Tibbetts, Bernie Tibbetts and was 
preceded in death by Glen Tibbetts and Vincent Tibbetts. He has 9 grandchildren 
and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be on Oct. 18, 2024, at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 
10:30am with burial immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Norfolk, VA, 
and a reception at 1pm at the Algonquin House, 7320 Glenroie Ave., Norfolk, VA 
23505.
