NORFOLK — Joseph P. Tiller, 55, of 2775 E. Little Creek Road, a VEPCO Power 
Station employee in Portsmouth for 28 years and a native of Richmond, died Sunday 
in his home.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ann Swartz of Tampa, Fla.; a son, 
Joseph P. Tiller Jr. of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Loretta T. Masseur and Mrs. 
Veronica Sawyer of Virginia Beach; two brothers, William C. Tiller of Virginia 
Beach and Haywood A. Tiller of Norfolk; and three grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church with 
burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive 
Chapel, has charge.

Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society. The Rosary will be 
recited tonight at 7 in the funeral home.

The family will be at 336 Chicasaw Road, Virginia Beach.
