TILLEY, son of the late Benjamin and Mrs. Lucy B. Tilley, native of Ogdensburg, N.Y., aged 40 years. Funeral from the family residence, 203 Maple avenue, TODAY (Friday), October 13, at 4:30 o'clock. Interment (private) in Magnolia cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. ********************************************************************** WILLIAM B. TILLEY DIES AT HOSPITAL Prominent in Berkley And Chief Clerk in M. & M., Steamship Offices William B. Tilley, one of the best known residents of Berkley ward, died yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Norfolk Protestant Hospital after an illness of several days. He was taken sick two weeks ago and continued to grow worse until yesterday. He was removed to the hospital yesterday afternoon a short time before the end. Mr. Tilley was well known in shipping circles. He was connected with the Merchants and Miners Steamship Company for twenty years and at the time of his death was head clerk. He was a son of the late Benjamin and Mrs. Lucy B. Tilley, who resided at No. 203 Maple avenue, Berkley ward. They came to Virginia thirty years ago from Ogdensburg, N.Y., where Mr. Tilley was born. He is survived by three daughters, Misses Helen, Elizabeth and Katherine. His wife died about three years ago. He is also survived by sisters, Misses Minnie and Kate Tilley; a brother, Lou Tilley and an uncle, E.M. Tilley, the latter of South Norfolk. The funeral services will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Rev. W.T. Green, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church, Berkley, will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia cemetery. It is requested that flowers be omitted.
