TILLEY Prominent Business Man Died From An Attack Of Heart Disease William P. Tilley, one of Berkley's best known and most highly respected citizens, died suddenly yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock at the home of his niece, Mrs. Foster Black, South Norfolk, from heart trouble. The deceased had been suffering from an attack of the grippe for a week or ten days, during which time he had been troubled considerably from his heart. He arose shortly before the time mentioned and attempted to get some medicine on his bureau when he suffered a sudden attack and passed away a few minutes later. The deceased was 72 years of age, born in Bristol, R.I., but has been a resident of Norfolk county since shortly after the war. For a number of years he was engaged in coastwise trading, but later engaged in business in this section, where he has remained since. For several years he has been one of the foremost coal and wood dealers of the town The deceased is survived by his wife and two brothers, Messrs. E.M. Tilley, of South Norfolk, who is at this time spending the winter in Florida, and Thomas C. Tilley, of Norfolk. Since E.M. Tilley left for the south the first of the winter two of his brothers have died, the first to pass away was W.P. (Benjamin) at his home in Maple avenue January 14. Mr. Tilley's death is greatly regretted by the people of this section. E. M. Tilley was advised of the demise shortly after the occurrence. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made. ********************************************************************* The funeral of the late William Palmer Tilley will be conducted from the residence of his niece, Mrs. Foster Black, in Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, today at 12 o'clock. Rev. E. W. Cowling, rector of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, assisted by Rev. V.W. Bargamin, pastor of Liberty Street M.E. Church, will officiate. The interment will be in Magnolia cemetery. E.M. Tilley, brother of the deceased, who has been spending the winter in Florida, arrived last evening to attend the funeral.
