Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday December 29, 1941

Mrs. Lillian Williams Tilley, aged 69, died Saturday night in the General 
Hospital, Los Angeles, Calif., after a short illness.
Widow of E.M. Tilley, Mrs. Tilley was a native of Amherst County.  She was 
the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Williams.
A resident of this section for many years before moving to California, she 
had many relatives in this area. 
Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.

Mrs. Lillian Williams Tilley, aged 68, died several days ago at Los Angeles 
where she had made her home for the past 22 years.  She was a native of 
Amherst County and had resided in South Norfolk until she moved to 
California.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Williams 
and wife of the late E.M. Tilley.  She is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. 
J.W. Jones. The body was cremated and forwarded to the Sykes Funeral Home, 
124 East Berkley avenue. 
Funeral services will be conducted at the grave Friday afternoon at 3 
o'clock. 
Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
