Tinaro Jr., 90, died May 23, 2008. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Louis and Anna Tinaro. He was the widower of Elsie Tinaro and was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Ann Manzo, Lena Frances Johnson and Gertrude Cecelia Carol; and brothers, John J. and Philip A. Sr. During World War II, Mr. Tinaro served in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring from service in 1956. He later worked for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, from which he retired. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid camper and member of the Sandfiddlers. Louis is survived by his son, Louis M. Tinaro, III, and his wife, Minnie M. Fleming, of Virginia Beach, and three generations of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk, with Capt. Mike Good officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
