He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police; American Legion Post 25; La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et 8 Chevaux; International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, and Coral Gables Lodge 1676, B.P.O. Elks. He was cashier with the Norfolk City Water Department for 18 years. He resigned that position in 1935, and was owner of a bowling alley at Ocean View for six years. He was a veteran of World War I. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. 0. Stakes, of Norfolk; two grandchildren; his father, Thomas Francis Tobin Sr., of Virginia Beach; one brother, Thomas F. Tobin Jr., of Miami, Fla., and five nephews. The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
