A native of Bertie County, N.C., he had lived in this section 41 years, most of which he was active in the grocery business. His late parents were Mr. and Mrs. William Todd. He was a member of the South Norfolk Baptist Church and of Oakdale Lodge 70, I.O.O.F. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bessie Askew Todd; one daughter, Mrs. W.O. Phipps, of South Norfolk; five sons, James Cecil Todd, USA, Fort Meade, Md.; Edward Askew Todd, Jefferson City, Mo.; Robert C. and Norman L. Todd, both of South Norfolk, and Howard P. Todd, USA, Fort Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Holloman and Mrs. George Butler, and two brothers, Charlie Todd and W. Delk Todd, all of South Norfolk; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. *********************************** James Oliver Todd- Funeral services for Mr. Todd, South Norfolk groceryman who died Friday, will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
