Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark October 2, 1921

The funeral of William R. Todd, who committed suicide Thursday afternoon at 
the corner of West Liberty and Chestnut streets, will be conducted at the 
funeral apartments of J.R. Williams, 208 Chestnut street this morning at 10 
o'clock by Rev. R.D. Stephenson pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church.  
Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
His father, Mr. Todd, of Fort Worth Texas, was heard from yesterday and he 
expressed the willingness to having his son buried here.  His sister, Mrs. 
Jack Russell, and her husband are here to attend the funeral services.
Mrs. Bertha Eure Todd called at the funeral apartments where the body is 
being held yesterday afternoon in company with friends.  She has been in a 
prostrate condition since the sad affair.  She had to be taken out of the 
machine and carried back to the machine after she had remained by the casket 
for a half an hour.
