Todd, in the 72d year of her age. The funeral will take place from the residence THIS (Tuesday) AFTERNOON at 3 o'clock. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend. *********** Tired of Living Mrs. Lucinda Todd, widow of the late Dr. Todd and mother of Charles H. Todd, took a dose of strychnine at her home, corner of Wide and Calvert Streets, Sunday morning and half an hour later was dead. Her reason for ending her life, as she stated to her son and Dr. French, was that she was tired of life. The bottle which contained the poison formerly belonged to her husband and had been around the house for twenty years. The Coroner's Jury rendered a verdict of suicide. ******************************************************************************** TIRED OF LIFE Mrs. Lucinda Todd Suicides by Taking Strychnine About 9 o'clock Sunday morning Mrs. Lucinda Todd who resided with her son, ex- Magistrate C. H. Todd, corner of Wide and Calvert Streets, went to a closet and took down a bottle of strychnine which had been hidden away in a dark corner for fifteen years. In 45 minutes she was dead by her own hand. The strychnine had done its work. Coroner E. V. Newton held an inquest over the body at 11 o'clock, the verdict returned being suicide. It developed at this inquest that the deceased, who was a widow and 71 years of age, had told her son and a Mrs. Ward, who was present, that she had taken the poison with the intention of killing herself, as she was tired of life and no other cause for her rash act can be found. When the physician who had been hastily summoned, arrived he found her beyond human help. The funeral will take place from the residence this evening at o'clock after which the remains will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery.
