Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, May 26, 1999 
Alice Jenkins Todd, 91, of the 5900 block of Poplar Hall Drive, entered into
eternal rest Friday, May 21, 1999, at Chesapeake General Hospital.

Born in the South Norfolk area, she was the widow of Herbert H. Todd and a
member of St. James A.M.E. Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Constance L. Todd Upton; a granddaughter, Wanda
Upton Clarke; a grandson, Carlton R. Upton Jr. of Chesapeake; seven
step-grandchildren of Virginia Beach; two great-grandsons, Reuben M. Clarke IV
and Marcus J. Clarke of Chesapeake; five cousins, Mary Jenkins Spelman, Blanch
Jenkins and Joseph Jenkins of Norfolk, Sidney Jenkins of South Carolina and
Jessie Smith of Virginia Beach; several other cousins and a host of friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at St. James A.M.E. Church, 501
Dinwiddie St., Norfolk, by the Rev. F.J. West of Maryland and St. James' pastor,
the Rev Gregory K. Jones. Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Friday. Family and
friends will assemble at 401 Clemson Ave., Chesapeake, for the procession.
Flowers may be sent to Fitchett Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery .
