VIRGINIA BEACH - Marie Festa Toscano died June 2, 2003.

Mrs. Toscano was a native of Portsmouth and was the widow of Frank Toscano. She 
was a member of Church of the Ascension and the Italo-American Citizens Lodge. An 
avid gardener, she had worked as a seamstress and was known for her gentle 
disposition and generosity, especially to her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Kastenbaum of Norfolk; her sisters, 
Angie Hughes of Virginia Beach and Teresa Hopkins of Chesapeake; and her brothers, 
Ralph Festa of Portsmouth and Andrew Festa of Chesapeake.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Church of 
Ascension with the funeral Mass beginning at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. 
Mary's Cemetery Friday at 11 a.m. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk chapel, is 
handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
