The Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 14, 1955
Joshua W. Towe, 91, a native of Perquimans County, N.C., and a resident of 
Norfolk for 62 years, died yesterday at 7 p.m. at the residence, 204 West 33rd 
Street, after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Alpine 
Hollowell Towe and son of Joseph B. Towe and Mrs. Pharaba Perry Towe. He was a 
member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving is one daughter, Miss Mary A. Towe, of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Derry-Twiford Funeral Home tomorrow 
at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
