Suffolk - On Monday, July 21, 2014 Mother Ella Jane Towler , widow of Leroy 
Towler , Sr., at the age of 92, departed this life at 11:00 a.m. at home. She 
was born in Norfolk, VA on December 3, 1921 to the late Deacon James and Clara 
Hill. Ella was predeceased by three brothers, James Andrew Hill, Robert Melvin 
Hill, Ernest Nathaniel Hill, one sister Clara Lee Jones, one son Leroy Towler , 
Jr. and one grandson Abdou Leroy Towler . She was a member of New Community 
Temple COGIC, Pastor Bishop Ted Thomas Sr. where she served as the President of 
the Mothers Board and member of the Missions Auxiliary. Mother Towler leaves 
five children, Bernard Dickens (Kim), Dwight Towler (Catherine), Andrea Watts 
(Benjamin), Sharon Cason (Warren), Renee Hardy, and daughter-in-law Faye Towler 
. She also leaves to mourn five sisters, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two 
great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and a host of family and 
friends. Funeral will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. July 28, 2014 at New Community 
COGIC, 3615 Tyre Neck Road, Portsmouth Virginia. Mother Ella Jane Towler is now 
resting safely in the arms of Jesus Christ. She will be missed as a mother, 
grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, prayer 
warrior, encourager, and friend. Please continue to pray for the family.
