Norfolk - Funeral services for Cornelius Townes, who died on Dec. 23 at his 
residence, 800 Middle street, were held on Dec. 30 with the Rev. Isaac Daniels 
officiating. Mr. Townes is survived by his widow, Mrs. Addie Townes; four 
daughters, four sisters, a brother, two sisters, and two grandchildren. Interment 
was made in Calvary Cemetery with the Chatman Funeral Home in charge.
