Norfolk Journal and Guide,Aug 23,1952
George Townsend, 923 Craig street, died Saturday night, August 2, at the home of
his niece, Mrs. Beatrice Moore. Funeral services were held Wednesday August 6,
from the St. James AME Church with the Rev. K. W. Barnes officiating. Besides
his niece, he is survived by two step-daughters, a grandchild and other
relatives. Pretlow Funeral Home was in charge of burial.
