Norfolk Journal and Guide,  May 26,1962
Ernest Townsend, 42, of 92 Hannah street, recently received final rites at 
Brotherly Love Church of Christ in Titustown.  The Rev. W. M. Willis officiated.  
H. P. Price Funeral Home directed burial at Calvary Cemetery.

A native of Fairmont, NC, Mr. Townsend lived in Norfolk 17 years.  He worked 19 
years at Norfolk Naval Air Station, and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Townsend;  a sister, Mrs. Virginia Powell 
of Fairmont;  and two brothers, Charlie Townsend and C. D. Townsend of Rocky 
Mount, NC.
