Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 1, 1916
Robert Joseph Townsend, Jr., four and one-half months old son of R.J. and Mrs. 
Hope Ellington Townsend, died yesterday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at the family 
residence, 30 Stewart street, South Norfolk, after a lingering illness.
The funeral services will be conducted at the residence this afternoon at 5 
o'clock by Rev. R.M. Hartness, pastor of the Liberty Street Methodist Church and 
burial will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
